Welcome to the Medical Research Network
The Medical Research Network (MRN) is a unique Clinical Trial Support Organisation offering specialised expertise to leading pharmaceutical companies, health organisations and investigators conducting clinical trials.
Our main objectives are to:
Patient access is increased in two distinct ways. The first is by reaching out to a large number of patients who would not normally consider taking part in a trial by offering them the chance to be seen for some of the trial visits (typically 30% to 50%) in their own home. This significantly reduces the impact of the study on their quality of life. The second is by placing experienced nurses into trial sites to give them the resources and expertise to take part in studies in which they would not normally be able to participate, opening up new patient populations.
Accelerated recruitment is driven in exactly the same way. Overall even when MRN is just taking blood samples in the home, recruitment increases by a minimum of 60% in sites offering Home Trial Support. In more complex scenarios, where we administer IMP or make more complex assessments, recruitment may increase 200 to 400%. Some studies have gone from complete ‘standstill’ in recruitment to meeting original recruitment targets in a few months. Site Support drives recruitment by opeining up more sites, especially those who do not have competing trials, and providing the full resources needed to conduct your study. Retention likewise improves, with studies running at less than 30% changing to deliver 90% or more retention over months and years. Typically we achieve retention rates of greater than 95% with complex therapies over long periods of time. See our case histories for more information
Home Trial Support
The MRN place nurses into the patients home to run appropriate visits of clinical trials. The patients like it, the sites become more efficient and recruitment & retention improves, so everyone wins.
