About The Medical Research Network

During the last 3 years, MRN has been involved in the conduct of over 90 projects across a wide range of therapeutic areas, ranging from complex trials in oncology, rheumatology, enzyme replacement therapy, haematology and others requiring drug administration in the home, through to simple blood draws in neurology, anti infectives, respiratory, renal etc. Trails are well suited to our service if they fit the following criteria:

Rare indications - Patients have to travel long distances
Long follow up - Patients have high risk of drop out
Complex drug admiistration - Patients need to visit the clinic just to have the IMP administered
Multiple extra cliic visits - Trial has a significant impact on the Patient's life

The success of our Home Trial Support has led to many partnerships in conducting high quality clinical research, above and beyond our initial partnership with Healthcare at Home. As a result, the MRN has performed many clinical trials in the patient’s homes and has recently expanded these services internationally.  Currently, we have capabilities in UK & Ireland, France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, Australia, Thailand, USA & Canada

MRN nurses can undertake a huge number of tasks in the home (Home Trial Support or HTS) or in the clinic (Site Support or SS), including administering complex therapies (both licensed and unlicensed), standard patient assessments, questionnaires and the recording of clinical trial data into source documents or case report forms.  Our clinically trained Nurse Managers are always available to support the nurses whilst in the home or those undertaking site activities.

HTS is further supported by the use of centralised pharmacies and specialised cold chain logistics, with the capacity for reliable compounding, dispensing and delivery of medications to trial sites or to the patients' home.

This unique combination of clinical trial support services has been found to enhance patient recruitment and retention, therefore ensuring faster trial delivery in today’s challenging research environment.  This is why we do not consider ourselves a CRO, but rather a Clinical Trial Support Organisation or CTSO.
