About The Medical Research Network

The Medical Research Network (MRN) is the clinical trials affiliate of Healthcare at Home (HAH). During the previous 10 years, HAH/MRN has been involved in the conduct of over 50 clinical trials across a wide range of therapeutic areas, including oncology & rheumatology. Our core competency is oncology and today employ over 20% of all the oncology trained nurses in the UK. In fact, of the 400 nurses at our disposal, over 70% are oncology trained.

Working from 17 regional offices throughout the UK, the MRN nurses support the conduct of clinical trials both in the trial site and in the patients' homes, allowing additional flexibility in study design.

All MRN nurses are qualified and experienced in administering complex therapies (both licensed and unlicensed), standard patient assessments, questionnaires and the recording of clinical trial data into source documents or case report forms. In many cases, the MRN nurses take on the traditional role of the study monitor in addition to their research responsibilities at the site and the patient home. Our clinically trained Project Managers are always available to support site activities.

The MRN is further supported by HAH’s core services including a centralised pharmacy and specialised national cold chain logistics, with the capacity for reliable compounding, dispensing and delivery of medications to trial sites or to the patients' home. In addition, MRN can provide Project Management, Clinical Monitoring, Medical Monitoring and Data Management services, therefore offering a fully outsourced project solution.

This unique combination of clinical trial support services has been found to enhance patient recruitment and retention, therefore ensuring faster trial delivery in today’s challenging research environment.

Our primary points of focus within the MRN can be summarised in two ways – ensuring the well-being and safety of the patient and forming positive and effective relationships with the site personnel, the investigators in particular.

Taking into account all of the above, the MRN does not consider itself a CRO or SMO, but more of a Clinical Trial Support Organisation (CTSO). That said, with the experienced personnel that are employed within MRN, we are well placed to perform any or all tasks associated with the running of a clinical trial.

The MRN delivers services that meet and/or exceed the quality standards demanded by patients, physicians, pharmaceutical companies and regulatory authorities.
The benefits delivered through the MRN’s quality approach include: timely study completion, credible and accurate data, increased medication & study compliance, reliable cold chain management, and a commitment to continually improve practices.
The MRN has an enviable track record in conducting clinical trials and tailoring to the requirements of individual customers.
