About us > History

The Medical Research Network (MRN) was launched by our CEO, Dr Graham Wylie, as a separate UK limited company after de-merging from Healthcare at Home (HAH) in November 2006.   For the previous year the MRN had been a division of HAH.

Over the last three years we have grown to almost 5 times our size when we became independant.  We now employ over 30 people and operate in 12 countries.

The MRN concept was born over 15 years ago when cutomers of Healthcare at Home asked the company if they could provide their nursing services for drugs in trials as well as their mainstream activity for licensed products.  Over the following years a variety of trial projects were undertaken and a good deal of experience was gained, leading to the creation of a Clinical Trial Division in 2005 under the leadership of Dr Wylie, with the objective of turning this 'side line' into a full business unit.  After around a year the Division was spun off as an MBO with Dr Wylie and the present management team on board.  There has been no change in the team at the top of the organisation since that time, reflecting the drive and committment they share to create a new and innovative organisation.

Our present strategy is to grow capabilities internationally.  We started in Europe in 2008, and now have significant operations there and in other countires our customers have requested - including Australia and Thailand.  We have recently started trial operations in the USA and Canada, and expect to continue such growth over the next 2 to 3 years.

We are a partnering organisation and are activly seeking patners to improve our value proposition.
